Behind the Static | Ambient hauntological soundscape | DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR SET

The programme you were watching has ended. The picture hasn't. Somewhere behind the static there's a room you half remember. A puppet that was on just before the news. A song from a schools broadcast nobody else seems to recall. A public information film about still water and long afternoons, playing on a set that should be switched off by now. Settle in. This is seventy-five minutes of hauntological ambient: soft radiophonic drift, warm analogue synthesizer, library music worn thin by the aerial. Sounds for late study, quiet focus, restless sleep, and the hours when 1970s and 1980s British television should have said goodnight. Retro, nostalgic, slightly unwell. Childhood memories arriving through the snow, out of order and almost kind.
