Welcome to Part 4 of the Autism Passive Therapy Series. In this video, I explain Joint Compression, a proprioceptive technique commonly used by occupational therapists to help children with autism and sensory processing differences improve body awareness and support sensory regulation.
Joint compression provides controlled proprioceptive input to the joints, which may help improve body awareness, promote calmness, support postural stability, and enhance attention and participation in daily activities. When performed correctly and under professional guidance, it can be an effective part of a child’s sensory regulation program.
