Day 7 of RAGBRAI 2025 challenged over 20,000 riders with an unforgettable and scenic 62-mile route from Oelwein to Guttenberg. Featuring 2,340 feet of climbing, it was one of the week's hilliest days and famously ended with a traditional Mississippi River tire dip in the rain. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] The epic final leg of the 52nd annual ride featured several highlights and memorable moments: The Route & Towns Pass-Through Towns: The route rolled through Aurora, Stanley, Lamont, and Garber. [1] Meeting Town: Bicyclists met in Edgewood, the high point of the day at 1,165 feet elevation, known for its mechanical bull and local community-saved grocery store. [1] Gravel Options: Experienced riders had the option to tackle 15.1 miles of challenging gravel roads between Edgewood, Garber, and Guttenberg, featuring steep 9% to 10% grades and technical descents. [1, 2] The Terrain & Scenery Rollercoaster Climbs: The ride between Garber and Guttenberg demanded serious stamina, with rolling rises and a nearly 400-foot descent down into the river town.
