Nick Mason - An Insight Into Pink Floyd (1987)

This is Nick Mason's part. In 1987, a promotional double vinyl album was released in limited quantities (official CBS Records Canada catalog number 2CDN-390). It was never intended for commercial sale. The record labels explicitly state "ON AIR USE ONLY - NOT FOR SALE." It was used exclusively by radio stations to schedule specials and interviews to coincide with the release of the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The set is housed in a gatefold sleeve. The inside cover features printed questions. This allowed local radio DJs to read the question live and immediately play the audio track with the band's pre-recorded response, simulating a personalized and exclusive interview. The first disc (Interviews): Contains exclusively spoken snippets and audio interviews with David Gilmour and Nick Mason. The two musicians answer questions about the band's new direction and the making of the album. The label on this first disc is the classic red Columbia/CBS label. The second disc (Music): Contains the entire studio album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Unlike the first disc, this vinyl features picture labels (illustrated labels with album artwork).
