I Met the Builder of This Veterans Cigar Box Guitar… Then Played It Live!

⸻ #stevearveymusic #cigarboxguitar #blues #veterans Sometimes the best surprises happen on the road. While attending the Custer Highway 10 Cigar Box Guitar Festival in Michigan, Steve Arvey Met an incredibly talented builder named Cathy. Seven years earlier, she had built this amazing four-string Veterans Tribute Cigar Box Guitar, but we had never met, and I had never even seen the instrument before. When Cathy handed me the guitar, I was blown away. Beautifully handcrafted, it proudly features the emblems of the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard, making it a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served our country. Of course, there was only one thing left to do—I took it on stage and gave it its very first workout in a live performance! I was amazed by how great this guitar sounded and felt, and it was an honor to play an instrument built with so much pride and respect for America’s veterans. A huge thank you to Cathy for this incredible gift and for sharing her craftsmanship with the cigar box guitar community. Most importantly, thank you to all of our veterans. This performance is dedicated to you.
