Jatileswar Temple Maynaguri | Jatileswar Shiva Temple | জটিলেশ্বর মন্দির | Jatileswar Mandir In this video, we visit the historic Jatileswar Temple in Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, one of the important ancient Shiva temples of North Bengal. After offering puja at Jalpesh Temple, we decided to visit Jatileswar Shiva Temple, located around 5-6 km away. We travelled through the peaceful village roads and reached the temple around noon. At the entrance, we parked our bike and entered the temple premises with an entry ticket of ₹10 per person. Inside the temple complex, you can see the entrance area, small shops, administrative arrangements, a large pond, devotees offering puja and the beautiful natural surroundings. Jatileswar Temple, also known as Jatileswar Shiva Temple or Jatileswar Mandir, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its ancient history, religious significance and traditional architecture. Different historical sources mention different views regarding its age and period of construction, with some accounts associating the temple with the Gupta period and describing it as around 1500 years old, while other archaeological views suggest a later period. The temple attracts devotees especially during Shravan month, Mondays and Shivratri. The peaceful temple surroundings, large pond, old trees and traditional religious atmosphere make Jatileswar Temple Maynaguri an interesting place to visit in North Bengal.
