Lyse Doucet is a Canadian journalist and the Chief International Correspondent for the BBC. Over the past four decades, she has reported on major global news stories and has served as a correspondent based in Jerusalem, Amman, Islamabad, Kabul, and Abidjan. Her first book is The Finest Hotel in Kabul. Ghada Karmi is a respected Palestinian author, physician, and academic whose work explores Palestinian history, identity, and displacement. Born in Jerusalem, she was uprooted during the 1948 Nakba and later settled in the United Kingdom. A trained medical doctor, she became an influential writer and public intellectual. Her acclaimed books, including In Search of Fatima, offer powerful insights into exile, memory, and justice, making her a significant voice in global discussions on Palestine. Fredrik Logevall is the Laurence D. Belfer Professor of History and International Affairs at Harvard University. He is the author of JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956, which won the Elizabeth Longford Prize, was named Biography of the Year by The Times (UK), and was recognized as a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Navtej Sarna is a distinguished diplomat and acclaimed author who has served as India’s Ambassador to the United States, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and Ambassador to Israel. His distinguished diplomatic career also includes senior roles as Secretary to the Government of India and Foreign Office Spokesperson. Sarna is the author of celebrated novels, including Crimson Spring, The Exile, and We Weren’t Lovers Like That, alongside notable works of non-fiction and translation. A prolific columnist and commentator, he is widely respected for his contributions to literature, diplomacy, and foreign policy discourse. Stephen Armstrong is an editor and reporter for the Observer where he also podcasts on US politics. He has a long inglorious career in newspapers and magazines from the Times to Wired covering everything from wars to wallpaper. He has written books on the history of hedonism, the private security industry, the rise of oligarchs in the developing world and poverty in the UK. He also has a screenplay in development where he confidently expects it to stay.
