We start by heading into Spiritcaller Cave, where an NPC invader kills Ray in approximately... FIVE SECONDS. Okay. Let's reimagine our approach. Remember that giant hole we already knew was there? LET'S FALL DOWN IT! Ray may, in fact, be the self-proclaimed DUMBEST MAN ALIVE. After another unfortunate incident involving some puppies, we finally have an idea: Don't fall in the obvious hole. Kill the slugs. Ignore everything else. PROGRESS! That gets us through the green mist and face-to-face with the Godskin Apostle. And... WHY DOES HIS TORSO GROW AND CONTORT LIKE THAT?! But somehow... WE GOT HIM!!! VICTORY! Wait. Why is there another one? ... Ray gets to feel good about himself for approximately three seconds before Elden Ring reminds him that no, he should not. Time to leave. Maybe Borealis the Freezing Fog will go better? Nope. Death Rite Bird? Also nope. Nothing is working. So Ray decides to invade another world instead. JUNO HOSLOW, KNIGHT OF BLOOD...YOU ARE ON NOTICE! And finally... WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL WIN! From there, Ray takes down a spectral boat, approaches Castle Sol, immediately discovers he's probably gotten ahead of himself again, and retreats to somewhat safer territory. But before we're done... The Hubris Detector goes off. LET'S FIGHT THE BLACK BLADE KINDRED! It takes a while. It isn't pretty. But... WE GOT HIM! Ray didn't win every battle today. He didn't even come particularly close. But when it counted? WE WON. Failures. Triumphs. Questionable decision-making. That's Elden Ring. Survive and advance.
