HOMILY FOR THE 16TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)......... BY VERY REV. FR. GEORGE MUNYAKA.

. Through the parable of the wheat and the weeds (Matthew 13:24-43), we are reminded to avoid rushing to judgment, trusting that God offers everyone time to repent and will perfectly sort the good from the bad at the final harvest. Embrace Patience: It is easy to look around and want God to immediately fix the wrongs, injustices, and imperfections in the world (and in other people). The parable reminds us that God is incredibly patient. He allows the wheat and the weeds to grow together, giving us all time to turn away from our shortcomings. Leave Judgment to God: We are often too quick to label, discard, or judge others based on appearances. Ultimate judgment belongs to God alone. Our task is to remain faithful, focus on our own spiritual growth, and extend the same mercy we receive. Small Beginnings: Alongside the parable of the weeds, Jesus reminds us of the mustard seed and the yeast (leaven). Even if our faith feels small or our acts of kindness insignificant, God can use them to grow a massive harvest of love and justice in our communities
