Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has issued an open political challenge to PML-N for a direct PTI vs PML-N public rally contest in Punjab. Sohail Afridi challenged PML-N to choose any city in Punjab, while allowing PTI to select its own city. He said PML-N could also decide the date and time, with the condition that both parties receive an equal and complete level playing field. Afridi said that if a PML-N rally attracts more public participation than a PTI rally, he would be ready to leave politics. However, if PTI’s rally is larger, he said PML-N should answer questions about its public mandate, treatment of political workers and governance in Punjab. He also challenged PML-N to demonstrate its claimed public support through a direct public contest rather than relying on political statements, government figures or media claims.
