Showell Circus and Goodyear Avenue

When it was built between 1925 and 1929, Low Hill was by far the largest council estate in Wolverhampton. It boasted good-sized, modern houses with generous gardens with plenty of green, open spaces around the estate. It boasted a good parade of shops, an attractive library and a public house with a large function room where dances were regularly held. The estate was source of great civic pride. Many of the estate's working population laboured at the Goodyear Tyre Plant, just a short walk from the estate.
