We spent a full day exploring Khao Yai National Park, hiking beneath enormous trees, listening for gibbons in the canopy, searching for wildlife, chasing waterfalls, and heading back into the park after dark for a night safari. We came hoping we might see one of Khao Yai’s wild elephants. We didn’t. But what we found instead reminded us why wildlife travel is so much fun: you never really know what’s waiting around the next corner.
