However, very few people know about this holy place. According to religious references, it is believed that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to this sacred place after Dinakagarh and Machhiwara. This place is located near village Sandhwan, District Faridkot, on the main road between Kotkapura and Faridkot. At that time, this area was a dense forest, known as a “rohi,” and there was a great shortage of water. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to this place and stayed here for a short while. He used a twig of a Flai tree as a datan (tooth-cleaning twig) and planted it in the ground. At the same spot today stands a huge tree, which is still green and flourishing. The old pond, or “toba,” is also still present here, where it is believed that Guru Sahib drank water and bathed. The “van” tree where Guru Sahib is said to have tied his horse’s reins is also still here, standing as a witness to the history associated with this place.
