Cars: Ultimate Edition: Ryan "Inside" Laney

Ryan "Inside" Laney is a Next-Generation race car who appears in Cars 3 as a rookie racer. His number is 21 (now 12 in nascar), and he is sponsored by Team Blinkr. In Cars 3, Ryan "Inside" Laney is one of the first six Next-Generation racers to replace six veterans at the second race located at the Motor Speedway of the South, having replaced Speedy Comet. He finishes at least sixteenth at the Los Angeles 500 of 2016. During McQueen's training with Smokey, Ryan is interviewed before the first race of the new Piston Cup season starts and he questions that McQueen not showing up is something he pulled as a rookie and that his grandfather told him about. At the Florida 500 of 2017, he starts in twenty-seventh place. Later, in the crash caused by Cam Spinner, he is seen miscolored, kind of looking like Michael Rotor in a couple of shots, and gets hit by Tim Treadless, but regardless, he is seen able to continue racing, and finishes in nineteenth place, while congratulating Cruz Ramirez on her win.
