[Manga Dub] My CEO's daughter mocked my work boots at the interview, so why is she facing me now?`

Three years ago this company sent me home from an interview in twelve minutes. High school graduate. Came up through the shop floor. Our management track only takes university graduates — it's policy. I bowed and left. I never asked why. Asking doesn't get it in writing. I went back this October in the same work clothes, straight off a night at their second factory. The president's daughter found me sitting in the waiting room and told me the loading dock was around the back. Seven applicants in dark suits looked down at the table. Nobody said anything. There was one other person in that room in work clothes. Seven years on the same line, five applications, five rejections, and the same sentence every time: a comprehensive judgment. At ten o'clock I walked around the table and sat down in the middle chair. My company builds the jigs their line runs on. Last month we and twenty other suppliers took a private placement in this company, and there were two conditions attached to the money. One of them was mine. It wasn't the head of HR's job, and it wasn't a seat on the board. You can rewrite a resume. You can't rewrite the reason you rejected someone. ▶ If you have ever been turned down and never told why, stay to the end. Subscribe for a new revenge & romance Manga Dub every week.
