Day 4 in Meghalaya was easily one of the most tiring yet most beautiful days of our trip. 🤍 What started with a simple breakfast of sandwich, watermelon and chai turned into a 14,000–15,000 step trek through lush green forests, beautiful villages, countless stairs and some of the most breathtaking landscapes I’ve ever seen. We made our way towards the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, crossing narrow bridges, village paths and streams along the way. We drank fresh natural mountain water, crossed a beautiful living root bridge, met the sweetest little village locals, and finally reached the magical Double Decker Root Bridge. 🌿 And of course… there was time for fishes, a little dip in the crystal-clear water, Maggie by the bridge and some very important Maggie tax paid to our furry guests. 😂🐱🐶 The trek back was another story altogether — tired legs, steep climbs and way too many stairs… but the yellow butterflies along the way made it completely worth it. 🦋 Later, we headed towards Nohkalikai Falls, where the sunset, clouds, waterfall, local market, music and little everyday moments created such a beautiful atmosphere. This day was exhausting. But sometimes the best travel memories are the ones that leave you with tired feet and a very full heart. 🤍 Come experience Day 4 of Meghalaya with me. 🌿 Places covered: 📍 Double Decker Living Root Bridge 📍 Nongriat Village 📍 Nohkalikai Falls 📍 Meghalaya local villages & markets If you enjoy slow travel, peaceful vlogs, nature, waterfalls, travel diaries and little everyday moments, I hope you’ll stay awhile. 🪷 Subscribe to Journalofkash for more travel & slow-living journals.
