This video doesn't have audio (my house is always wonderfully filled with bustle and people. There's never a quiet moment to film!) but it does have subtitles so please turn on closed captions. Learn how to knit an open pleat and create a Split Cuff. This is where a section of knitting overlaps another and it's worked flat rather than in the round. It's a cute touch for cuffs, pockets or sleeves and I've used it as a cuff option on my soon-to-be-released Core Sweater Pattern. The first few rows are a little tricky when you're trying to work the overlap section, so use a cable needle to help give you some space to work. After 3-4 rows, you won't need it at all and can just knit back and forth until the pleat is the length you want. This tutorial covers both the left and right cuff where the pleat needs to go opposite directions. Happy knitting! Katrina #openpleat #knitting #knit #knittingtutorial #howtoknit
