We Found OCTOPUS and a TURTLE in These Rock Pools! Port Hedland to Eighty Mile Beach 🐙🐢 We kick off in Port Hedland exploring the epic rock pools at Cemetery Beach. We find multiple octopus squirting water, a flatback turtle sheltering in the shallows, plus crabs, sea cucumbers and fish, then watch the massive iron ore ships roll into the world's largest bulk export port. Then we hit the road toward eighty mile beach via Doolena Gorge free camp on the Coongan River, spot one of Gina Rinehart's famous pink road trains, tick off marble bar - Australia's hottest town, it was 31 degrees in the middle of July - enjoy a late lunch in a dry riverbed and a shady play stop with the kids, overnight at De Grey River free camp, then roll the 9km of dirt into 80 Mile Beach Caravan Park to find our spotlight hanging by its cable. We finish with shell collecting at low tide, hitting our 10 shells per person limit, sandcastles and sunset over the ocean.
