How NOT to make a Metroidvania - Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Review

Castlevania is my favorite franchise and because of this a revival entry in the series naturally ended up becoming my most anticipated game of the year. I've been waiting for this game for 18 years, since Order of Ecclesia. While IGA's vision for the series continued with Bloodstained, all Konami has been doing is the atrocious Lords of Shadow trilogy and M2s very good albeit bitesized remakes The Adventure Rebirth and Haunted Castle Revisited. Belmont's Curse was supposed to mark the true return of the series. Unfortunately all it's accomplished is smash any hopes I had for the future of the franchise and also made me physically sick to the point of losing my voice. Endulge me as I rant your ear off for a solid 30 minutes.
