I went all-out at Sushiro, Japan's No.1 conveyor belt sushi chain — 20 plates, all by myself, for just ¥5,060 (about $32). Tablet ordering, express sushi lanes, free matcha with hot water at every seat… and a plate tower that got out of hand. 🍣🇯🇵 🍣 What I ate (20 plates + chawanmushi) ・Wild tuna belly ・Seafood gunkan / Negitoro gunkan ・Seared shrimp ・Ikura & corn mayo gunkan ・Fried chicken nigiri (yes, really) ・Seared engawa (flounder fin) ・Scallop ・Eel ・Cheese hamburg nigiri ・Yellowtail ・Chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) 💴 Total: ¥5,060 (≈ $32) for 20 plates Most plates are ¥110–¥360 ($0.70–$2.30). In Japan, the plate color tells you the price! *Prices at the time of filming (September 2026). $1 ≈ ¥158. ⏱ Chapters 0:00 Highlights 0:15 Arriving at Sushiro 0:19 Ordering on the tablet 0:58 Sushi on the express lane 1:20 First plate: wild tuna belly 2:20 Seared shrimp & premium plates 2:54 Fried chicken… on sushi rice?! 3:39 Round two: scallop & a big surprise 4:52 Round three: eel & cheese hamburg nigiri 5:31 The plate tower begins 6:21 Free matcha (careful, it's HOT) 6:46 Chawanmushi 7:07 Final round 8:30 Final plate count & the bill If you enjoyed this, please subscribe for more real life in Japan!
