Familiar streets, lamplight on wet pavement, and steady rainfall make the city feel unusually peaceful—until another rhythm begins to emerge beneath the rain. Too faint to be certain. Clear enough to make you stop and listen. Across five tracks, soft felt piano, delicate cello harmonics, low drones, and metallic waterphone resonances gradually turn calm into unease. A small melody returns like a familiar route home, each time feeling a little less familiar. No one steps out from the darkened doorway. Nothing reveals who—or what—the footsteps belong to. They seem to fade, only to return a little closer. When you stop for the last time, the rain continues. Then comes one more step.
