Demanding stronger protections for Buckskin and South Ham residents

Luke held a debate in Parliament where he called for greater accountability, an end to uncertainty, and urgent improvement in SNG’s repairs and maintenance service for Buckskin and South Ham residents. Luke spoked about the regeneration proposals for Buckskin and South Ham, in the Westminster Hall debate he had secured. Luke told MPs and Ministers that in his surgeries, and at Soverign Hill Partnership's (SHP) own drop-ins, and on the doorstep, too many residents remain frustrated, uncertain, and anxious about the future. Luke set out the core issues raised with himself on the regeneration including accountability and transparency over finances; uncertainty; and the lack of trust, linked to performance on repairs and maintenance. Luke called for: 1) clearer accountability over the scheme for residents, including the use of resident ballots and transparency over the financial model behind the project; 2) an end to uncertainty with clear and realistic timelines for affected households; 3) a significant improvement in SNG’s repairs and maintenance service to rebuild trust.
