We spent a few days exploring the Isle of Arran in Scotland.
We drove to Ardrossan where we picked up the ferry which takes us to Brodick. It was windy and wild feeling, but luckily it stayed dry.
A gannet flew side by side with us for most of the crossing.
It was the last ferry of the day and it was late when we arrived so we found a campsite and pitched our tents.
The next day promised to have some sun but the wind was still so strong. We had a few ancient sites we wanted to visit on Machrie Moor.
Kings Caves (55.5260, -5.3534)
Stone circles (55.5399, -5.3159)
I wanted to visit the Holy Island, I read there are Viking runes to be seen - but we thought better to return on a nicer day when we can kayak over.
So we continued to drive around and explore. Phoebe was happy to see some seals up close.
That evening we found a good place to wild camp. It was such a beautiful location but the midges started to bother us. The mosquito nets we had on our tent and hammock protected us.

If you’re new to my channel, I make slow, atmospheric walking films. I shoot third-person tracking shots as we move through the landscape. I make the focus of the video the pure experience of walking - observing, listening - tuning in to nature.
Most of my films follow pilgrimage routes, long-distance paths, or hidden trails through the UK and Europe.
