Psalm 91 Morning Prayer | Start Your Day Under God's Protection

#psalm91 #prayer #prayerforprotection Some mornings you wake up already braced — checking the news before your feet touch the floor, counting the people you love and every road they'll be on today, feeling like there's nothing between you and the world. This is a morning prayer for that exact feeling: the day you want to begin under God's protection instead of out in the open. Built slowly on Psalm 91 — "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" — this prayer isn't a promise that nothing hard will happen. It's an invitation to stop bracing for the whole day at once and stand under the wing for the length of one hour. You'll pray it in the first person, in your own voice, over your own morning: the ordinary crossings of the house, the roads you can't drive, the ones you can't follow, and the hour you dread most. Then a simple way to keep coming back under the shelter every time the fear stands up again during the day. Find a chair. Put both feet on the floor. Let your shoulders come down. And let's pray before the day begins. "In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly." — Psalm 5:3 You've prayed. Now the day can begin.
