In the countryside of Wakayama lies Koyasan, a sacred mountain that is the center of Shingon Buddhism. It was founded by Kobo Daishi in the 800s, and made Koyasan its central training ground. In this temple town, you can experience monastic life by staying at a temple. There are many pilgrimage trails leading up to Mt. Koya. We took the Choishi-Michi Pilgrimage Trail which you can start from either Kudoyama Station (7-10 hours), Kamikosawa Station (5-7 hours), or Kii-Hosokawa Station (2-4 hours). Here are the songs I used for this video: https://www.epidemicsound.com/playlis... #japan #hiking #koyasan #wakayama #hikinginjapan #kansai #高野山 00:00 Intro 00:24 The route 01:24 Cherry blossoms 01:35 Towards Yatate 02:39 The Choishi-Michi Pilgrimage Route 03:07 Oshiage Iwa 03:51 The hike 07:10 My thoughts about the trail 07:56 Towards Daimon 08:25 Daimon 09:22 Garan 09:57 End of the hike
