Welcome back to African Village Family Life! ❤️ Today, we take you into another beautiful and authentic day in our African village as our family comes together to prepare a delicious traditional dinner — Ukpo Ogede, a special type of moi moi made with ripe plantain. 🍌🔥 The video begins with our African village dad, Sunday, splitting firewood as the family gets ready for the evening. Shortly after, Mum and the children bring out everything needed to prepare dinner. For this special meal, the family decides to make Ukpo Ogede (plantain moi moi). Mum, Dad and Chisom work together to peel and cut the plantains before washing them properly. But the preparation doesn’t stop there! Chisom heads toward the valley village to grind the plantain. He walks for quite a while before eventually meeting a motorcycle that gives him a ride to the grinding location. After getting the plantain ground, he makes the journey back home so the cooking can continue. Back at home, Mum begins preparing the mixture. She adds delicious ingredients including palm oil, seasoning, salt, fresh pepper, crayfish and smoked fish, creating a flavorful mixture for the Ukpo Ogede. 😋 Mum and Chisom carefully tie the mixture in nylon before placing everything into the pot to cook. Chisom then brings fresh banana leaves and uses them to cover the cooking pot, adding another traditional touch to the preparation. 🌿🔥 After patiently cooking, the Ukpo Ogede is finally ready! The food is brought down from the fire, and Mum prepares fresh pap to go with it. Finally, the entire family gathers together and enjoys the delicious dinner they worked so hard to prepare. ❤️ This is more than just a cooking video — it is a glimpse into authentic African village family life, traditional Nigerian food, family teamwork, village cooking and everyday life in the countryside.
