Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson Rhythm Dance Bolero Cup 26

Lilah & Lewis scored 79.91 (43.56 + 36.35) to be in 1st place, in a heavily edited Mish mash of music cuts that jarred on the ears. I really wish they'd choose a piece of music and just leave it clean instead of always creating a sound scape. I read they were skating to Jazz, but this was no slinky Jazz, infact the French couple before had a more coherent program including Fame, with Torvill & Dean in the audience, taking them back to their first European & World titles in 1981. I enjoyed some of the innovative moves Lilah & Lewis had, and the Skating was good, but it wasn't a whole piece artistically for me. I also thought both their costumes were very drab, Lewis in black Lilah in varying shades of brown. But my main quibble is the music. They actually skated to Gypsy King's Bambolea in their 'Disco Brits' season for the Short Dance. So I don't really understand this choice again, or the heavy editing? I also thought the piece they used for the Golden Waltz Pattern was harsh, heavy and dull. A Waltz should be light and tuneful. So overall, I was underwhelmed. Let's hope the Free Dance is more impressive and enjoyable.
