This is the full video of my ascent of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and the highest mountain in the Atlantic Ocean. As far as I know, this is the only video online showing the entire route from the trailhead at Montaña Blanca to the summit of Teide. The route is not overly technical, but above around 2,700 m, you may start to feel the effects of altitude, especially if you travel from sea level to the trailhead on the same day. Permits and mandatory equipment A permit for the ascent (PNT 07) is required, as well as a separate permit to reach the very summit (PNT 10). The official website also lists the mandatory equipment, including proper hiking boots, a thermal blanket, gloves, a hat, water, a windproof jacket, long trousers etc. Take these requirements seriously, as park rangers may refuse access if you do not have the required equipment. Weather conditions on Teide can change rapidly, so be prepared. I was lucky to have good weather throughout my ascent. Also, make sure you arrive at your scheduled time, or you risk being turned away. Teide National Park is a natural wonder, from Mount Teide itself to the spectacular rock formations of Roques de García and the impressive Pico Viejo volcano. Being here is a special feeling, and I highly recommend visiting this unique landscape. These four video parts cover the route from Montaña Blanca to La Rambletta cable car station at 3,550 m.
