More than 2 million people with roots in Vietnam now call America home — but where did they build their new lives? From California to Texas, Washington to Georgia, Vietnamese communities have created new homes, businesses, neighborhoods, cultural centers, and traditions across the United States. In this episode of Diaspora Atlas, we count down the 10 American metropolitan areas with the largest Vietnamese communities, using the latest available 2020–2024 U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. The metropolitan-area ranking and population figures used in this video are based on the latest ACS-based metro dataset available at the time of production. Important: Population figures can vary between sources because different organizations may use different ACS periods, geographic definitions, and methodologies.
