Wake & Bake Mix EP 170: Happy Birthday MJ | Michael Jackson Birthday Mix | The Block NYC

This weekend Spike Lee throws his annual Michael Jackson birthday block party in Brooklyn, and the whole borough is getting ready. Episode 170 is the warm-up. The pre-game. The soundtrack you need before you step out into one of the most legendary annual traditions New York has to offer. Michael Jackson was born on August 29th, and Spike Lee has been throwing down in his honor in Fort Greene for years — and if you know, you already know what tonight feels like. We opened with Michael and Janet with Scream. What followed was a full journey through the catalog, the tension, the funk, the romance, the horror, the joy, and the undeniable fact that no artist in the history of recorded music has ever made a bad song that sounded this good at full volume. Rock With You. Thriller. Off the Wall. Don't Stop Til You Get Enough. Wanna Be Startin Something. Every single one arriving in its fullest, most extended form because this birthday deserves room to breathe. P.Y.T. closed it out and sent you straight into the night. Go find the party. You already know where it is. 🗽 🎵 Featured Artists: Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson 📅 Originally Aired: 08/28/26 | Mixed and Hosted by Dre Boogs | 94.7 The Block NYC Perfect for: Michael Jackson birthday playlist, Spike Lee block party warm up, MJ tribute mix, King of Pop celebration, Brooklyn party playlist, throwback legends #MichaelJackson #HappyBirthdayMJ #SpikeLee #KingOfPop #Thriller #BrooklynParty #MJBirthday #FortGreene #dreBoogs #947theblock
