Malik Azhar Awan: STRIP FOOTING FOUNDATION 2026 | Complete Step-by-Step Foundation Process In this video, Malik Azhar Awan takes you through an important stage of residential construction — the Strip Footing Foundation — and explains the process from Lean PCC and Center Line Marking to Steel Fixing and Concrete Pouring. A strong building starts with a properly designed and properly executed foundation. Although the foundation remains underground and is not visible after construction, it carries one of the most critical responsibilities of the entire structure: transferring the building loads safely to the soil. In this construction project, we have reached the Strip Footing stage after completing the initial site preparation and foundation layout. What You Will See in This Video We start with Lean PCC, which provides a clean, level and stable working surface for the foundation work. After PCC, accurate Center Line Marking is carried out according to the structural drawings. Center Line Marking is one of the most important steps in foundation construction because it establishes the correct position and alignment of walls and structural elements. Even a small error at this stage can create problems in the positioning of the structure further ahead. After the marking process, we move towards Steel Fixing. In this project, 60 Grade Steel has been used as reinforcement. The video explains why reinforcement is important in a foundation and why simply using high-grade steel is not enough. The diameter, spacing, quantity, lap length, anchorage, placement and concrete cover all need to comply with the structural design and engineering drawings. What Is Strip Footing? A Strip Footing is a continuous foundation generally used under load-bearing walls. Its purpose is to distribute the load from the wall over an appropriate area of soil and transfer that load safely to the ground. However, foundation design cannot be based on assumptions or on a standard size for every building. The required foundation width, depth, reinforcement and concrete specifications depend on several factors, including the structural loads, soil conditions, soil bearing capacity and the approved structural design. This is why proper Soil Investigation and Structural Design are essential before executing foundation work. Before Concrete Pouring Before concrete is poured, the complete reinforcement arrangement should be inspected carefully. Steel diameter, reinforcement spacing, lap length, anchorage, levels and concrete cover should be checked against the structural drawings. The reinforcement should also be properly supported so that it does not move from its designed position during concrete placement. Proper Concrete Cover is particularly important because it helps protect reinforcement and contributes to the long-term durability of the reinforced concrete structure. Concrete Pouring Once the reinforcement and formwork have been checked and approved, the next major stage is Concrete Pouring. Concrete should be produced and placed according to the specified Mix Design and required concrete strength. The Water Cement Ratio should not be changed casually at the site simply to make concrete easier to place. Excess water can negatively affect concrete quality and strength. During pouring, proper Compaction and Vibration are also important to remove unwanted air voids and ensure that concrete properly surrounds the reinforcement. Proper placement also helps reduce the risk of Honeycombing and other concrete defects. Where applicable, proper planning of the pouring sequence is important to minimize unwanted Cold Joints. What Happens After Concrete Pouring? Foundation work does not end when the concrete is poured. Proper Curing is an important part of concrete construction because adequate moisture and suitable conditions allow cem… [21:45, 06/09/2026] Malik Azhar Awan: 🏗️ MiCasa Construction Professional Construction & Real Estate Services 🌐 Website: www.micasamarketing.com.pk 📞 Contact: +92 333 5551232 +92 321 5551232 📧 Email: info@micasamarketing.com.pk 📍 Head Office: Office No. 9, 2nd Floor, Lord Trade Center, F-11 Markaz, Islamabad 📍 B-17 Office: Plot No. 24, Street No. 02, Block B, B-17, Islamabad For Real Estate Consultation, Property Investment & Construction Services, Contact MiCasa Marketing.
