Happy always

I walk the road that bends into the void, and at its end, a still and darkened door. My steps grow lighter drawing nearer, not from hope, but from a quiet wish to set down this heavy burden I have borne since that first grey day I cannot name. The sky above draws near, and the mind is weary of waiting for a light that will never come.
