Was the House Cup Rigged? We Counted Every Point in the Books

At the end of Harry's first year, Dumbledore hands out last-minute points and Gryffindor snatch the House Cup from Slytherin. But was the House Cup ever actually fair? We went through all seven books and added up every House point that's given a number. We sorted them by who gave them and checked who won each year. That includes the Quidditch final Harry could have lost by catching the Snitch too early, the Inquisitorial Squad turning points into a weapon, and the three years the books never give us a winner for. With HBO's Harry Potter series starting on 25 December 2026, here's the full count before the feast hits screens again. Chapters 0:00 The feast everyone misremembers 0:44 How House points work 1:41 Year one: the 150-point night 3:22 Every teacher's points, counted 4:32 Year two 4:54 Year three: the Snitch maths 6:03 Year five: Umbridge's squad 7:10 The years the books skip 8:04 Our best guess 8:34 So, was it rigged? Who's the most unfair teacher at Hogwarts? Tell me in the comments (and "all of them" doesn't count).
