Georgijs Osokins - Arvo Pärt: Für Alina (live from Hamburg)

The existential dream of reaching oneself and overcoming the limits of life, in Georgijs Osokins's performance of Arvo Pärt's 'Für Alina' live at The Martha Argerich Festival in Hamburg, accompanied by evocative and hand-drawn animations by goos (Guste Bidvaite). This year "Für Alina" celebrates 50 years since it was composed. It is Arvo Pärt's first work in his distinctive tintinnabuli style - a musical language shaped by simplicity, resonance and silence. This brief yet deeply expressive piano miniature emerged after a period of creative searching and has become one of Pärt's most significant and widely loved compositions. This performance is part of an extended edition of Georgijs Osokins's acclaimed DG debut album 'For Arvo', released on 11 September 2026, exactly one year after the original album release and on Arvo Pärt's birthday. It also features Georgijs Osokins and Martha Argerich performing the composer’s 'Hymn to a Great City' for two pianos, recorded the same evening in Hamburg.
