CHIEF MATSINI YAWANAWA at Ofrenda Fest Foundation

Continuing our concert series from the Amazon rainforest with another Yawanawa family from the village of Mutum in Acre, Brazil. The chief Matsini Yawanawa from is a living legend of the Yawanawa people, widely respected for his wisdom, leadership, and commitment to preserving traditional knowledge and cultural practices. He will be accompanied by his beautiful family, including his wife ManxyVake, known for her powerful voice that carries the essence of the forest, and his two eldest children, Kuru and Kenetsãiny, who have been deeply immersed in their ancestral spiritual traditions from a young age. Chief Matsini Yawanawá will be our main host and guide. He is guiding many young Yawanawa people, as well as non-native people, into the culture, diets, and spiritual studies of the Yawanawá with a lot of care and dedication. Jordão Pekûti The last initiated student of the late Pajé Tatá, Pekûti carries the legacy of his lineage and the teachings entrusted to him. He is the Co-Founder of Nipeïhu, a research institute and retreat center dedicated to the preservation and study of the medicinal plants of the Amazon forest.
