American Airlines Presents FRANK SINATRA Selections From WATERTOWN Original "AstroStereo" Reel Tape

Among the rarer FRANK SINATRA recordings are the reel to reel tapes produced by Warner/Reprise Records for American Airlines in the late 1960s and early 1970s featuring selections from Sinatra's Reprise Records catalog. The audio programs were originally curated for playback on American's inflight multi-channel audio system but were also produced on 1/4" reel-to-reel tapes for aviation and music enthusiasts to listen to at home. This "Airborne Stereo Adventure" W-69 reel tape is particularly hard to find and features four selections from the 1970 "Watertown" album (along with other 1960s FS recordings) beautifully transferred from the Reprise master tapes with the original stereo mixes. The audio is recorded directly from the Warner/American Airlines 4-track stereo reel tape. Sinatra sings: I Would Be In Love Anyway 0:01 Goodbye 2:32 What A Funny Girl You Used To Be 5:35 Elizabeth 8:35 (with guitar intro by Ralph Casale) The inset photo features Sinatra standing at the (mythical) Watertown train tracks. The photo was actually taken in Southern California, not far from Sinatra's Burbank office.
