UMAR IBN AL-KHATTAB (RA): The Moment He Accepted Islam | Part 6

In Part 6 of our Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) series, we finally reach the moment everything has been moving toward: the moment Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) accepts Islam. But what actually happened? Early Islamic sources preserve more than one account of the events immediately surrounding his conversion. The famous tradition takes us through the house of his sister and the Qur'anic material associated with Surah Ta-Ha. Another early account places Umar (RA) near the Kaaba, listening privately as Muhammad (PBUH) recites the Qur'an. The routes are different — but both lead to the same extraordinary destination: Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) approaching Muhammad (PBUH) and declaring his belief in Allah, His Messenger, and the revelation that came from Allah. In this episode, we examine what the sources establish, what remains uncertain, and what Umar's final decision teaches us about truth, ego, courage, submission, and the willingness to admit when we were wrong. This is where our story of Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) before Islam ends.
