MEIKA

Long ago, in a distant place They gave thanks for the gifts of the earth A bowl of rice was offered To a figure called Nō Ningyō Rice left behind, too precious to waste A lady-in-waiting came up with an idea She dried it, toasted it, and coated it in soybean flour A celebrated sweet was born — its name was! (Yo! She wanna dent you!) A tale passed down in a land far to the north There once lived a warrior Between battles, he took up his sword And crushed green beans with its hilt The boiled beans were mashed into a paste Sugar was added to make it sweet Spread over soft rice cakes A famous sweet was said to be born — its name was ずんだ餅! (Zoom the much!) With ingenuity, they transformed the leftover rice Driven by the wish to waste nothing A sweet tradition passed down through generations Now shout its name! (Yo! She wanna dent you!) (Yo! She wanna dent you…) →「Yo! She wanna dent you!」 →「Zoom the much!」 🤘 🎸 The Story Behind “MEIKA” Thank you for watching! 😊 AI-generated music, yet a progressive metal band that could only exist because of AI — The 47th Crimson Ronin presents their 3rd single, “MEIKA.” This time, the theme is traditional Japanese sweets! 🍡 “Yoshiwara Denchu” and “Zunda Mochi.” We took the legends behind the origins of these two traditional sweets and turned them into a full-blown progressive metal song, complete with heavy guitar riffs and complex rhythms — performed with absolute seriousness. “Yoshiwara Denchu!” → “Yo! She wanna dent you!” “Zunda Mochi!” → “Zoom the much!” The English phrases were chosen for how closely they sound like the original Japanese words, rather than for their meaning. An epic sound, an utterly ridiculous concept. We hope you enjoy the contrast as much as we do!
