From the flight journey and airport experience to visa/ETA requirements, SIM card purchase, currency exchange, transportation, and useful travel tips, 🛂 SRI LANKA VISA / ETA FOR INDIANS 🇮🇳🇱🇰 : Sri Lanka currently offers a tourist visa/ETA free of charge to Indian passport holders for up to 30 days**, but that does **not mean you can simply arrive without completing the required process. Indian travelers still need to obtain an **Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arriving in Sri Lanka**. ETA processing for Indian nationals is free of charge for a 30-day tourist visa. You can apply for the ETA online through the official Sri Lankan government ETA website. 👉 Official Sri Lanka ETA website, Link is below: https://eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ 💵 CURRENCY EXCHANGE IN SRI LANKA I carried US dollars from India and exchanged the USD into **Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) at Airport in Colombo. There are official banks and currency-exchange counters available in the airport's arrival area. In my experience, the exchange rate I received at the airport was very good compared with the options I checked in the city. 📱 DIALOG 5G SIM CARD IN SRI LANKA After arriving in Sri Lanka, I also purchased a local **Dialog 5G SIM card at the airport**. I paid approximately INR ₹400 for the SIM/package I received, which included **20 GB of data with 30-day validity**. 🚕 COLOMBO AIRPORT TO COLOMBO CITY — HOW TO GET THERE 🇱🇰 After landing, Colombo city is approximately **30–35 km away**, depending on your exact destination. For getting from the airport to the city, you have a few options. 📱 PickMe App — This is the option I personally used. PickMe is one of the popular ride-hailing apps in Sri Lanka, and you can book a car or other available transport directly through the app. 🚗 Uber — Uber also operates in Sri Lanka, so you can check the Uber app for available rides and fares from the airport. 🚌 Airport Shuttle / Public Bus — If you're travelling on a budget, the bus/shuttle option can cost only around ₹100–₹110 approximately. So if you're looking to save money, this can be a very budget-friendly way to get towards Colombo.
