Walking in Brooklyn NYC | Park Slope to Brooklyn Bridge

A Friday evening Brooklyn walk in early summer 2026. The starting point was Boreum Hill at Bond Street & Atlantic Ave. From there I wandered through Park Slope on commercial streets and Brownstone-lined side streets. Prospect Park was full of neighborhood Brooklyners on a Friday late afternoon. I walked back toward Union Street and crossed the Gowanus Canal, an area now exploding with residential development. From there I headed to Cobble Hill along Smith Street and Court Street to downtown Brooklyn and on to Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. I finished with a walk along the Brooklyn Heights promenade and down to Brooklyn Bridge Park and Dumbo and finally across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan.
