On this video Hans Van Klinken Ties his Original Caseless Caddis fly. Caseless Caddis pattern mimics Caddisfly larvae like Hydropsychidae. Hydropsychidae are caddisfly larvae that do not construct portable protective cases out of sand and plant matter. Unlike case-building species, they move freely over stones on the stream bed or build fixed silk retreats for hunting. This is great pattern for grayling and trout fishing. Larva patterns are extremely popular among the competition fly fishers and euro-nymphing as they fish near the bottom, where fish most commonly feed. Similar flies are Polish and Czech nymphing flies.
