The trees were planted in the 1960s and now form a canopy of pink and white blossoms that draws tens of thousands of visitors during peak bloom — usually lasting only 1-2 weeks. The UW campus itself opened in 1861 and covers 703 acres in Seattle's University District. Drumheller Fountain, visited twice on this tour, is one of the most iconic viewpoints on campus — on clear days, Mt. Rainier appears perfectly framed at the end of Rainier Vista.
