The bridge you're standing on was built in 1468 — on sacks of wool. We observe the history that most people walk past. In Wadebridge, that history is under your feet on the River Camel — the Bridge on Wool, built by Reverend Thomas Lovebond, vicar of Wadebridge. Local legend says it was founded on wool sacks pressed into the riverbed. Widened in 1853, again in 1963, refurbished in 1994. You're still walking on it.
