Triranga Darshan in One Day from Bengaluru The traditional Triranga Darshan is a pilgrimage to the three sacred Sri Ranganathaswamy temples along the Kaveri River: Adi Ranga, Madhya Ranga and Antya Ranga. You can plan a one-day trip from Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar), Bengaluru, but visiting all three in one day is a very long journey, and the temple opening hours are the biggest factor. 1. Adi Ranga — Srirangapatna Karnataka · First Ranga The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatna is the traditional starting point of the pilgrimage. Karnataka Tourism lists normal darshan hours as approximately 7:00 AM–1:30 PM and 4:00 PM–8:30 PM. 2. Madhya Ranga — Shivanasamudra Karnataka · Middle Ranga The second sacred Ranga is at Shivanasamudra, in the Kaveri region. Its location makes this the most important stop to time carefully between Srirangapatna and your final destination. 3. Antya Ranga — Srirangam, Trichy Tamil Nadu · Final Ranga The famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam is the final temple in the traditional Triranga circuit. Its extensive temple complex and darshan queues require extra time. Planning estimates for a private car, not live traffic predictions. Allow extra time for temple queues and parking. 125–135 km RR Nagar → Adi Ranga, Srirangapatna About 2.5–3 hours Via the Bengaluru–Mysuru highway (NH 275). ~75 km Adi Ranga → Madhya Ranga About 1.5–2 hours Via the Bannur–Mavalli side towards Shivanasamudra. ~290 km Madhya Ranga → Antya Ranga, Srirangam About 6–7.5 hours A long drive via the Kollegal–Erode–Namakkal corridor. Estimated total 490–500 km Approximately 10–12.5 hours of driving alone, before breakfast, lunch, darshan, fuel stops or traffic delays. My recommendation: Start very early and have a second adult driver if possible. This is an exceptionally demanding day trip. If you have only one driver, consider splitting the pilgrimage over two days rather than rushing or driving while tired. PLAN 7:00–8:00 AM Adi Ranga darshan, subject to actual opening and queue 8:00–8:30 AM Quick vegetarian breakfast 8:30–10:00 AM Drive towards Madhya Ranga 10:00–10:45 AM Madhya Ranga darshan, if the journey and queue allow 10:45–11:15 AM Early lunch or packed food 11:15 AM onwards Continue towards Srirangam; expect a long drive Evening/night Antya Ranga only if you arrive before the applicable darshan session ends These timings are tight. In particular, the Srirangapatna temple normally opens at 7:00 AM, while Madhya Ranga opens at 7:30 AM, so you should not assume you can complete both before mid-morning.
