I hope you enjoy following along as I make a hand sewn leather belt. This hand made leather belt is created from two layers of full grain leather. Using full grain leather creates a very durable leather belt. The leather belt is all hand made. Every stitch is by hand. This belt was made in “The Western” pattern. I used Tiger Ritza Thread to create this pattern on Vegetable Tanned Leather. I believe that this is a very beautiful design and was my most requested belt during 2023. The belt is nearly 1/4” thick and the result is a full grain leather belt that will last longer than the beauty implies. The leather belt was dyed using Fiebing’s Pro Dye in the color of Golden Brown. I use a technique that creates a two-toned effect that makes it look antique. The buckle is stainless steel purchased from Landwerlen Leather in Indianapolis Indiana. Creating leather items is a hobby of mine that has turned into a small business. My hope it that by creating these videos I will encourage you to try to make belts for yourself.
