To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the publication of Adam Smith’s seminal work, The Wealth of Nations, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), in collaboration with the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow (ASBS UoG), presents a talk show exploring the relevance of Adam Smith’s ideas to contemporary economic development. This discussion brings together academics and experts to examine how Smith’s insights on markets, productivity, trade, and national prosperity continue to shape economic theory and policymaking today. The event also provides an opportunity to reflect on Adam Smith’s intellectual legacy and its relevance to addressing contemporary global challenges, including inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable development.
