The Ohio River provides drinking water for 5 million people, but is often referred to as one of the most polluted in the country. Even after years of environmental clean-up, climate change is continuing to pose to news challenges to the health of the system we rely on.
This discussion on the future health of the Ohio was held at the WVU Media Inno Center, hosted by 100 Days in Appalachia as part of the seven-newsroom collaborative reporting project of the same title, Good River: Stories of the Ohio.
Participant newsrooms include PublicSource, The Allegheny Front, Belt Maghazine, Environmental Health News, the Ohio Center for Investigative Journalism, Louisville Public Media and 100 Days. It was produced with support from the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the National Geographic Society.
