Around 10,000 voter entries in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, are under scrutiny after new names allegedly replaced those of eligible voters while their Voter ID (EPIC) numbers remained unchanged. The new names were reportedly nowhere to be found during the inquiry. An FIR has been registered against two Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and a computer operator. The case comes amid complaints by the Samajwadi Party and the Congress over alleged irregularities in Uttar Pradesh’s electoral rolls, with concerns that similar discrepancies could exist in other constituencies. #breakingnews #news #sir #UttarPradesh #Pilibhit #VoterList #ElectoralRoll #ElectionCommission #IndianPolitics #TheIndianExpress Read all the stories in today's paper https://indianexpress.com/todays-paper/ The Indian Express brings you comprehensive coverage of global & indian politics, election news, business news, world affairs, sports, entertainment, Bollywood, and public policy.
