プロダクトデザイナーとして様々な製品を世に送り出し、テクノロジーとアートの融合を追求してきた山中俊治が、先端科学技術の可能性を広げるための新たな視点を提案する。 フリーのデザイナー、慶應義塾大学教授を経て、2013年より東京大学教授。 腕時計、カメラ、乗用車、家電、家具など携わった工業製品は多岐にわたり、毎日デザイン賞、グッドデザイン金賞、ニューヨーク近代美術館永久所蔵品選定など受賞多数。近年は「美しい義足」や「生き物っぽいロボット」など、人と人工物の新しい関係を研究している。 Shunji Yamanaka created numerous products and basic technologies ― from automobiles, cameras, watches, robots, mobile phones, furniture to the design of interface for mass-transit smart card machines ― based on a design approach fusing art and technology. He was appointed as a professor at the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo in 2013.
