The journey continues into a different side of the Sahyadri mountains, with dense greenery around the bends and low clouds drifting across the hills. Along the way, we pass small roadside streams, rain-fed waterfalls and quiet hillside villages tucked into the mist. Some stretches feel peaceful; others feel a little eerie as the forest closes in around the narrow road. At times, the fog becomes thick enough that I turn on the Creta’s headlights and fog lamps as visibility drops. It’s a memorable monsoon journey through winding mountain roads, scattered village homes and lush forest scenery—all from the driver’s perspective.
